In April we got in touch with over 2,000 supporters who have outstanding tax back forms for 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. We are still waiting on some of these forms, which we rely on.
What are the forms all about?
A signed tax back form allows ActionAid to claim back tax on your donation. If you have paid any income tax (as a PAYE or self-assessed taxpayer) in the same year as you donated €250 or more to us, ActionAid may qualify to receive a tax refund equivalent to 45% of what you have already donated.
This means that by signing a tax form you are effectively making another donation of anything from €112 – without spending any more money.
I’ve lost my form – what should I do?
No problem, we can easily send a replacement, as a signed form is very valuable to us. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01 878 7911.
Locating your PPS Number
PPS numbers are on payslips, P60 forms, on the bottom left corner of the Public Services Card and on many documents issued by the Revenue Commissioners or the Department of Social Protection.
When you return the signed form to ActionAid, we forward the donation amount for the tax year(s) along with your PPS number to the Revenue Commissioners. We store the Good Form information securely only for the purpose of obtaining tax rebates.
Revenue pays the tax relief to ActionAid when satisfied that you have paid at least the donation amount in income tax. ActionAid does not receive any information on individual taxpayers.
As an ActionAid supporter, we know you want to do as much as you can for the communities and countries we work in. You have been so generous already in supporting the work of ActionAid in developing countries.
Sending back your signed form today will allow us to do so much more.
If you have any questions about the tax back scheme please contact email@example.com or call 01 878 7911
