Your donation can go further at no extra cost
Have you donated to ActionAid in the last four years? With just a quick signature, more funds could go towards transforming the lives of some of the world’s poorest communities.
How does it work?
The Government-approved charity tax back donation scheme allows ActionAid to reclaim 45% of your donation and the best part is that it’s free! To help us requires a quick signature.
All income taxpayers qualify for the scheme, whether they are PAYE or self-assessed.
That means if a supporters donates €250 or more in one year, their gift is worth at least an additional €112.33– without spending any more money.
This simple act of support can unlock much needed income to help transform lives in the communities where we work. But we cannot do anything unless supporters sign and return their tax back forms.
What do I need to do?
Download the tax-back form today and return by Freepost to:
ActionAid Ireland, 172 Ivy Exchange, Granby Place, FREEPOST F4964, Parnell Square, Dublin 1, D01 V125
The form is simple and easy to fill out – all that is needed is your PPS number and signature.
PPS numbers are on payslips, P60 forms, on the bottom left corner of the Public Services Card and on many documents issued by the Revenue Commissioners or the Department of Social Protection.
This does not commit you to making any payments – it simply enables us to claim tax back on your donations for any years in which your donations total €250 or more from 2018-2022.
What if I am Self Assessed or PAYE?
In 2013, the Budget introduced changes to the Tax Effective Giving Scheme meaning that tax relief can be claimed whether you are self-assessed or PAYE tax payer. This new form, the Enduring Certificate (CHY3 form) allows us to claim the relief in respect of donations of €250 or more in any one year, for a 5 year period.
When you return the signed form to ActionAid, we forward the donation amount for the tax year(s) along with your PPS number to the Revenue Commissioners. We store The Good Form information securely only for the purpose of obtaining tax rebates.
Revenue pays the tax relief to ActionAid when satisfied that you have paid at least the donation amount in income tax. ActionAid does not receive any information on individual taxpayers.
As an ActionAid supporter, we know you want to do as much as you can for the communities and countries we work in. You have been so generous already in supporting the work of ActionAid in developing countries.
Sending back your signed form today will allow us to do so much more.
By simply signing your tax back form, you will help us reach more families like Everline’s. Everline (pictured above), 25, from Kenya was in a violent relationship. She left her husband and is now part of an ActionAid savings and loans group, building a small home for her two young children with the money that she has saved. She is pictured with her daughter Mercy 1.
