Today is Global Day of Action Against Arms Sales to Israel. Will you take action to call on the Irish government to use their position in the EU and relationship with the U.S. to end arms sales?

It is almost seven months since the sustained bombardments by Israel started in Gaza. To date, over 34,500 Palestinians have been killed, 70% of them women and children.  The entire population has been starved. Famine has already taken hold and unless there is immediate food distribution at scale, the consequences will be unimaginable. And yet, the response from most governments has been depressingly lacking.

How Ireland can support an end of arms sales to Israel

We are calling on the Irish government to put pressure on other states that are arming Israel. Ireland has played an important role in calling for a ceasefire but we can and should do much more. Ireland has to use all its diplomatic effort to stop those arming Israel in order to end this genocide.

What you can do

Today is the Global Day of Action, and here are three ways that you can help:

  1. Share our call for an end to arms for Israel on social media, tagging an Taoiseach Simon Harris. You can use this Twitter Post, or tag @SimonHarrisTD on other social media platforms with the above message, using the hashtag #StopSendingArms.
  1. Call your local TD and demand they call for their party to do more to ensure arms sales to Israel by other EU countries and by the U.S. are ended – it is crucial that politicians hear our voices.
  1. Call (01 619 4000) or email (taoiseach@taoiseach.gov.ie) the Taoiseach’s office to ask for Simon Harris to take a clear stand against arms sales to Israel by fellow EU members and the U.S.

Thank you for supporting this action.
