Help us to demand action from our leaders.

The effects of climate change are becoming more destructive every year. Unfortunately, in the aftermath of climate disasters women and girls living in poverty are particularly at risk of hunger, starvation, violence, exploitation, loss of education and livelihoods, and deepening debt.

Sign Our Petition calling on leaders to #payup4lossanddamage

Wealthier nations are responsible for producing the vast majority of planet-heating greenhouse gas emissions. Yet the climate crisis is hitting poorer nations the worst. And so, ActionAid is calling on rich governments to agree to establish a new funding facility at COP27 to address climate-induced loss and damage. This is what we mean by #payup4lossanddamage

Although the EU parliament has JUST today voted to support action on loss and damage, it is vital that we continue to build public momentum so the EU delegation, as well as the US, UK and Australia, follow suit during these critical negotiations at COP27.

Rich countries that have used the most oil and gas now have a moral obligation to support recovery and rebuilding efforts in the vulnerable parts of the world that have been directly impacted by climate change.
