ActionAid Celebrates Culture Night
On Friday 22nd September ActionAid Ireland will celebrate Culture Night. And so we will open our Dublin city centre office to supporters and friends, as well as to the public.
The event is free and open to all, if you would like to RSVP you can do so here.
What to expect
ActionAid will celebrate African and Asian cultures, with food, photographs and talks. While an interactive display will enable visitors to communicate with women in Kenya. And, you can listen to the women’s messages on culture and send your own message back.
In addition, on the evening there will also be discussions on challenging harmful cultural practices anywhere in the world, from tax avoidance to violence against and women.
Siobhan McGee, CEO said of the event: “We are pleased to take part in Culture Night for the second time this year. ActionAid has a long history supporting women and children in the developing world to lift themselves out of poverty. We look forward to opening our doors to share these stories. And to hear your thoughts on culture and different cultural practices.”
How to get there
ActionAid’s office is located at 172 Ivy Exchange, Granby Place, Dublin 1, just off Parnell Square. See map here. And the office will open from 5.30pm to 9pm.
About Culture Night
Culture Night is now in its 13th year. Venues and public spaces across the island of Ireland will open their doors to host a programme of free entertainment, as part of an all-island celebration of arts, heritage and culture. See full brochure of events at: https://culturenight.ie.
ActionAid provides long term support to women and their children in developing countries. So they can overcome the obstacles holding them back.
