Make. Mend. Empower.
Tuesday 20 October | 6pm–8pm | Flux Studio
What to learn to sew? What to avoid fast fashion and learn how to repair your own clothes? The resurgence of sewing and clothing repair is helping people save money, reduce waste and embrace sustainable fashion.Â
Join Miriam Keegan (Sew Sustainable) and Joanna O’Dowd (Joanna’s Feeling Crafty) for a hands-on workshop covering:
- Basic sewing skills
- Mending and clothing repair
- Making the most of your sewing machine (bring one if you have it)
Participants will also discover how ActionAid Ireland, with support from Irish Aid, supports women in Nepal to develop sewing and craft businesses that provide income, independence and long-term economic security. The workshop will feature inspiring stories and visuals from Nepal showing how sewing is helping women create brighter futures for themselves and their families.
