ActionAid held a special public Supporter evening on Tuesday 1st of May at the Wood Quay Venue, Dublin 8 to thank our supporters for their generousity.
The event had a focus on ActionAid’s work in Nepal, following the three year anniversary of the Nepal earthquake that had seen generous support from people in Ireland.
On the night, supporters enjoyed hearing from Siobhán McGee, CEO of ActionAid Ireland, Gilda Pender, ActionAid Board member, and Triona Pender, Head of Programmes, who gave an update how on how invaluable contributions from supporters have made a difference to communities in Nepal. Deepesh Man Shakya, President of the Nepal-Ireland Society also gave an engaging address.
ActionAid Ireland has a strong relationship with our partner organisations and the communities they serve in Nepal, where we run programmes to transform the lives of communities, particularly women and children. We have also carried out humanitarian responses to recent natural disasters in Nepal including the earthquake in 2015 and the floods in 2017.
Throughout 2018, ActionAid plan to meet as many of our Supporters around Ireland through these informal, engaging events. To stay informed of future events please keep an eye on our Twitter, Facebook, or sign up to receive our newsletter.
