President Higgins: Our response to Covid-19 in Africa

“Out of the tragedy of coronavirus may come hope of a more just society. Let’s make it happen” – President Micheal D Higgins.

A long-standing campaigner for a more just world; we felt this address by President Higgins had to be shared with our supporters and followers.

In it, the President calls for us to consider how this pandemic will affect Africa. He asks that we empower African communities to rebuild and become agents of change.

This is the essence of our work in ActionAid. Over decades, we have built partnerships with African communities. Our responses are led by Africans, for Africans. We will continue to work in this way during these challenging times.
