Help end poverty for girls like Halimoon
Halimoon from Bangladesh is six years old. Her father, a rickshaw puller, died in an accident. From then, her mother, Rina, 35, has worked as a day labourer to feed her children. Halimoon doesn’t go to school. When her mother goes outside for work, she Halimoon takes care of her younger brother and does all the domestic work such as cooking, cleaning house, bringing water, etc. Then she goes rag picking, where she earns 15 to 20 cents per day and buys her younger brother biscuits or chips. Halimoon wants to go to school but they cannot afford the expense and also, when her mother is outside, there is no one to look after her brother.
